What will happen to my existing recharge?

If you have an existing recharge at this date, you’ll continue to have access to uncapped 5G and 4G speeds with your existing recharge. Capped download speeds will apply on your first recharge from 4 April 2023.

Browse our Pre-Paid plans to see what caps apply.

What is a capped download speed?

Your capped download speed is the maximum potential download speed for data included in your recharge. Typical speeds may often be slower and will vary due to factors including location, distance from the base station, local conditions, concurrent users, hardware and software configuration and download/upload destination.

What happens if I exceed the included allowance?

If you exceed your included data allowance, you won’t be charged extra, but your speed will be capped at 1.5Mbps and slowed further in busy periods.

This isn’t suitable for HD video or high-speed applications and means that some webpages, videos, social media content and files may take longer to load. However, you can still stream video in standard definition, listen to music, browse the web, and access social media, even if the experience is slower sometimes.

Heavy data users (users in the top 1% of all data users) may experience slower speeds than other users during busy periods.
