The Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster works on all nbn connections. You also need a Telstra Smart Modem (Gen 3, Gen 2 or Gen 1.1) to use the booster. The Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster is not designed to work on ADSL or cable connections.

No, Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Boosters are exclusive to Telstra Broadband customers and are only compatible with Telstra Smart Modems.

Yes, the Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster Gen 3 is backwards compatible with all Telstra Smart Modems.

No. The Telstra Smart Modem Gen 3 is only compatible with the Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster Gen 3. 

You may not need the Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster Gen 2 as the Telstra Smart Modem Gen 3 has more powerful Wi-Fi. If you’ve got the Telstra Smart Modem Gen 3 and you’re still having issues with your Wi-Fi you can use our smart troubleshooting tool to check your connection.

You'll need to upgrade to a Telstra Smart Modem to use a Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster.

If you have a Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster and receive another Wi-Fi Booster under our Wi-Fi Guarantee, you will receive a Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster Gen 3.

Once the 24-month Wi-Fi Guarantee commitment has ended, you can purchase  a Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster Gen 3 so long as you have an eligible Telstra nbn plan.

If you're not happy with your Wi-Fi coverage, we'll work with you to ensure your coverage reaches every room. This may include:

• online support through Smart Troubleshooting
• over the phone support
• remote network speed tests

We may also send you up to three additional Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Boosters, at no additional cost.

To order an additional booster:

1. Go to telstra.com/fixwifi to run network checks and place order if eligible
2. Call 13 22 00.

The Wi-Fi Guarantee is included when you add a Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster to any Telstra eligible nbn internet plan.

To be eligible for the guarantee you must:

• be on a Telstra nbn internet plan or be able to switch to the nbn network with Telstra
• have a Telstra Smart Modem (1.1, 2.0 or 3.0) or agree to upgrade to a Telstra Smart Modem

Yes, if you don't have a Telstra Smart Modem, then you'll receive a $0 upgrade to the Telstra Smart Modem when you add the Smart Wi-Fi Booster to your eligible Telstra nbn plan.
