If you’re thinking about cancelling your Telstra nbn service, or switching providers:

  • Call 13 22 00 and say ‘disconnect’
  • Alternatively, you can message us to see if we can find a plan that works better for you.

You can cancel your service in the My Telstra app or My Telstra in a browser.

My Telstra app

Message us in the My Telstra app to cancel your nbn service.

My Telstra in a browser

  1. Log in to My Telstra in a browser with your Telstra ID
  2. Go to Services and find your internet service
  3. Select Manage internet
  4. Under View or manage your plan choose Cancel service.

Will there be a cancellation fee?

There may be a cost to cancel your service. Please message us to discuss your total cancellation cost.

The Telstra representative you talk to can tell you the amount required to pay out your contract.

What else happens when I cancel?

If you’re on the nbn network, you can’t have your internet and home phone with different providers on a single line.

Good to know:

  • Disconnecting your home phone line or moving it to another provider does NOT automatically disconnect your Telstra home broadband service. You need to contact us to cancel the service.
  • When you cancel your service, you can keep your Telstra email account/s. There is no charge for the first 12 months after service cancellation. You may then be charged $79 (incl. GST) per mailbox, per year. That charge is paid upfront each 12 months and is non-refundable. We’ll notify you when you need to start paying for your Telstra email account/s. Email accounts that are inactive (i.e: you have not signed in to your account) for 180 days, may be automatically cancelled and deleted without notice to you.
